We talk to Cass Suwinski about his latest Kickstarter for the Dwarf Mine Quest RPG Dungeon Tiles. His company, Tomb Guardians Miniatures, has created a series of metal miniatures for their dungeon crawl RPG. This project is for high resolution 3D printed dungeon tile for the first part of the adventure, the Dwarf Mine. The tiles use an innovative magnet system to connect them, as opposed to clips, and also feature LED lighting details. Check out this immersive and affordable project for your next dungeon crawl!
Ken Spencer talks to us about the Why Not Games Kickstarter for the adaption of Rocket Age to “the world’s greatest role-playing game” 5th edition. He also talks about the inspiration for the setting and also their plans to keep all books for Rocket Age available in both “classic” version, using the original Vortex system, and the DnD 5e ruleset. If you like pulp science fiction with a modern 1930s viewpoint and only ever play DnD, check out Rocket Age 5e.
We were lucky enough to get some time with Lou Agresta in the middle of the Kickstarter for Grimmerspace, a scifi horror setting for the Paizo Starfinder RPG. We discuss the choice of the system, playing horror in an RPG, Sean Astin’s involvement in the project, the Grimmerspace setting and setting-specific character classes and technology. We played the free starter adventure available on the Kickstarter page called Abbatoir-8 and we recount a little of our experiences. #grimmerspace #starfinder

Another deep dive into an RPG where we have both read the book and played a few session. This time it is Mutant: Mechatron – Rise of the Robots by Free League. It uses their Year Zero Engine, d6 dice pool system, and although it is a stand-alone game your robots can play with characters in both Mutant Year Zero and Genlab, once they escape Mechatron-7. We give you an overview of the system, character creation and the setting. Also a discussion of the surprising challenge of playing self-aware robot player characters. If you are familiar with Mutant Year Zero this is a great new take on post-apocalyptic characters and if you are new to the system and setting, it is well worth your time. Find out if this game is for you as we dive deep into Mutant: Mechatron.
In this episode, we discuss the question of racial ability bonuses in D&D and other TTRPG systems. Is race the best way to give the flavor of the setting or does it just bring with it uncomfortable stereotypes drawn from the real world? Which will win in our discussion nature or nurture? If you roll a muscle wizard does that save you from the Tolkien hole?
Unboxing the Warhammer 40k Shadowspear box set. This box leads up to the Vigilus campaign and contains Primaris Ultramarines versus Dark Legion. The Librarian in Phobos armor and the new daemon engine, the Venomcrawler, are the most notable part of the new miniatures. These are all new original sculpts and no repackaged sprues from previous releases. It contains a campaign book and two mini codexes. This refreshes a tired line of chaos space marine sculpts and gives the Phobos keyword more use for the Primaris.
We talked with Cass Suwinski from Tomb Guardians Miniatures about their current Kickstarter campaign for their Queen of the Damned Velrath’s Vampires metal miniatures series. Previously they have produced miniatures for a Dwarven series and there will also be an upcoming Amazon series. These releases will culminate in a ruleset for their faction-based dungeon crawl game system coming this fall.
This is the final week for their Kickstarter campaign so have a look today!
